Hi everyone, it's my turn to create something for Roc Nicholas this week, so I made a large tag using some of Roc's gorgeous stamps for Stampotique.
I had so much fun making this big tag, not only because Rocs stamps are so fab to use, but because it meant that I could try out my Tim Holtz Distress Oxide pads - finally...
They were worth the wait. They were so much fun to use.
I inked the background, spritzed with water and let the colours run and mix together. Because the Inks react so well with water, I wanted to try the 'Bleach' effect with a couple of Rocs stamps to see if it would lift the colour off the tag and leave a bleached or watermarked effect. It's really effective.
I dried the background, spritzed some water onto my craft mat, then dipped my stamp into the water, tapping off the excess and pressed it onto my card. I did this all over the tag. Then used kitchen paper to lift the colour out and dried it with my heat gun. I also did this on 'bird princess' dress.
I also used the Oxide pads to colour in the stamped images I used. I used a water brush and lifted the colours off the craft mat, they blend and mix really well.
To finish the tag, I used a range of Acrylic Paint pens to splat ink over the tag, it makes the colours pop and adds another layer of colour.
You can find all of Roc's stamps Here.
The stamps I used today are:-
: Heart Vine - Roc
: Corner Sun - Roc
: Bird Princess - Roc
: Flying Bird - Roc
: Barcode Text (art mail) - France Papillon
I hope you've liked my make today..
Take care and Happy Crafting xxx
