SDC266 Love Bugs Week 2!

Love Bugs....!!

Hi everyone!

Well, it's my second week as Guest Designer for Stampotique and I'm having lots of fun.
I can't think of anything better than being surrounded by amazing stamps, a cup of tea and the potential to make a great mess - my perfect day..!

This Is my second 'Love Bug' project.  I decided to make a Canvas this time and already had a stamp in mind to use - I love it...

I wanted to use Brusho's as the colourant this time, as Ive haven't really used them very much. I wanted a 'greenish' background, so I stuck mainly to greens, but also turquoise, blue and yellow so it looked like it was outside?!
I applied some brushos to the dry canvas first of all, then spritzed them with some water and dried.
Once dry, I chose a fairly open stencil and used some texture paste and although the brushos had been dried, some of the colour still wicked into the paste.  Let it dry completely.
Then I wet the canvas again and applied more pigment, until I was happy with the coverage. If there was too much in one place, it's easy to just mop it up with some kitchen paper.

I coloured my stamped images in with watercolour paint, I used Prima Watercolours and I
adhered them to the canvas.
To make it more of a Love Bug theme, I added wings to backs of the friends jumpers  ('Take your Time' stamp by Daniel Torrente ) and the bumble bee and moth.

I added the fabulous Patio Lights and used a 3D varnish on the bulbs, so that when they dried they actually looked like light bulbs. Then I adhered everything else in place.

I thought it was quite a summery looking scene and I hope warmer weather is on its way soon!

The stamps I used were:

It would be great if you could join in the challenge.
