Quirky Crafts Reminder Challenge #5 - Secret Garden

Hello folks, welcome to another post at 'Inky Towers'. It's been a fairly busy week craft wise.  I've been busy playing in my little craft den and had a fabulous two day class at Art From The Heart making a beautiful book.
March is a very busy, crafty month, and I'm so excited about what's to come...watch this space....

This week is the reminder challenge for Quirky Crafts and the theme is 'The Secret Garden'.
I have to admit that I am in love with the sponsors images this week. We are sponsored by Unky and the digi images are beautiful. They are striking and unusual and work so well with whatever you want  to use them for.

          

I chose to do a journal page for this challenge. The background was created by using the new colour inks by Dylusions. The new colours are beautiful and so vibrant.

Once I had sprayed the page and dried it a little, I chose a Vine stencil by Dylusions and applied a thin layer of translucent crackle paste by Wendy Vecchi through the stencil, then left to dry. 

 I just love crackle paste, it's like adding a little bit of magic to your craft. The effect it gives is fabulous and when I use it over spray inks, it begins to take on the colour of the inks underneath, whilst having a subtle crackled appearance...

I coloured the gorgeous image with the same colour inks that I used to do the background, I also used them to colour in some flowers .....

Although the page is fairly simplistic, I am really happy with how it has turned out. I used my favourite colours with a beautiful image from Unky and I think they complemented each other really well.....
